The club returned to the COBRA 10s as defending champions, and also were off to Borneo to play in the Borneo 10s for the first time.

This tour was a first for the Penguins in so far as 3 differen elements of the club were active at the same time. The club entered a team in both the 10s tournaments plus had grass roots and coach education coaching teams in action.
