The club accepted an invitation from Orkney RFC to play in their 15 a side tournament to celebrate their 40th anniversary over Easter weekend.
The tournament consisted of 6 Orkney teams, the Presidents team comprising of players from Cathiness, Shetland and Aberdeen and the Chairman’s team which was a full Penguin International XV. The format was two pools of 4 with matches 12.5 minutes each way. Each team played the other teams in the pool with the two pool winners meeting in the final.
The weather was not kind to the event with continual wind and rain preventing open rugby. Nether-the-less all team participated with gusto and determination, running the ball when ever they could.
The Penguin’s and the Orkney 1st XV won the respect pools and met in the final.
