Thankfully, the continuous rain we experienced all day on the 2nd ceased approximately two hours before kick off and the game was able to go ahead, with the pitch playing remarkably well considering the rain over the previous twenty-four hours!

The 2022 Dark Blues pack was on a roll and proving to be a formidable force, with four internationals and six different nationalities in the starting eight, they perhaps epitomise the ethos of the Penguins on the night at Iffley Road as they laid the foundation for Oxford to secure a 57 points to nil victory.

It is not often the Penguins experience such a loss, but those players representing the famous Penguin jersey did the club proud and battled hard from the first minute until the fianl whistle, but ultimately the well drilled Oxford squad, just four and half weeks out from the Varsity match, proved too strong.
